PROPEL Star Wars TIE Advanced X1 Quadcopter

Finally, there’s a product that combines the fun of flying drones with the magic of The Star Wars franchise. Introducing the PROPEL Star Wars TIE Advanced X1 Quadcopter, available at B&H Photo. With a large assortment of sound effects, film score excerpts from compose, John Williams, as well as highly-detailed craftsmanship, the TIE Advanced X1 Quadcopter will prove to be awe-inspiring for child and collector alike. The drone’s package is adorned with a wax seal of the Galactic Empire on one side, and a bas-relief of the TIE fighter on the other.

Opening the box on this product is a milestone event in of itself. Simply lift the top part of the box, and the TIE fighter’s perch will light-up when the main casing is removed, playing an extended set of music and excerpts from various Star Wars films from the first trilogy. The drone itself is hand-painted, and there’s an assortment of lights on the wings, including one laser for laser tag with other Star Wars drones, and a sensor on the bottom. When shot three times the drone will twirl to the floor and land. The battery is a top of the TIE fighter you can slide it back manually to unlock to reveal the dock for the drone’s battery. There are two 800 milliamps per house 7v batteries, and they look just like a piece of the ship making them easy to identify. There’s a port that charges the drone and the display.

The set also comes with four propeller guards, several plastic propellers with extras, and an installation and removal tool for the propellers. Charging the drone can be accomplished via the drone or the display with USB wall-charger that is also included. There’s also a matching white controller with the Galactic Empire insignia. The back of the controller has a headphone port and speaker for playing music. The grey buttons are for music mode and adjust the volume, change the tracks. The on button is the Galactic Empire insignia located on the bottom of the controller’s face. The left stick pitches, the right sticks rolls; and the throttle is located on the left too.

The white buttons on top are roll left and right respectively, and the left and right secondary buttons on top are speed adjustment and fire, respectively. Also comes with a built-in screw-driver for opening the battery slot which makes Darth Vader sounds when opened.

The remote takes AA batteries and also has a bracket-stand for a cell-phone. Three lights in the top middle for whenever your TIE fighter gets hit. When out of music mode the grey buttons turn on and off the lights of the TIE fighter. Top right turns of the drone and lets the drone calibrate. Hold down the bottom-left silver button to get it to take off. The lights on the black will flash red when the TIE fighter begins running out of battery.
